Competition rules

Please read these terms before entering. They explain who can enter, how to submit, and how images may be used.

The competition is to have your photograph featured in the Rhondda Calendar. Individual entrants are responsible for reading, understanding, and following these terms before submitting. Any entry that does not comply may be disqualified.

Eligibility

  • Organiser
    The organiser of the competition is Rhondda Calendar Society.
  • Free to enter
    The competition is open to photographers of all skill levels.
  • Professional photographers
    For these terms, a professional photographer is someone who earns more than half their annual income from photography-related work.

Submission requirements

  • Submit online
    Photographs must be submitted using the online form.
  • Entry limit
    You can enter up to five images in total.
  • Local connection
    You must live within the Rhondda.
  • File quality
    Upload the highest-resolution JPEG you can, up to 10 MB. Files may be rejected if they are too large or not suitable for print.
  • Required details
    Please include your name, telephone number, email address, and a title for each photograph.

Subject and ethics

  • Respect the environment
    Do not injure or distress animals or damage the environment while taking photographs.

Copyright and reproduction

  • You must own the image
    You must have taken the photo and own the copyright in the image you submit.
  • Usage licence
    By entering, you grant the organisers a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and publish the image for the calendar and related promotion.
  • No fee payable
    No fees will be payable for these uses, although credit will be given where practical.

Disclaimer

The organisers reserve the right to cancel the competition or alter the rules if necessary. Any breach of these terms may void an entry.
